totally fucked.

so i've been doing alot of thinking. and i guess everyone does during college, when they're not drinking and being pretentious assholes. and things arent making sense. like, the big bang theory. i don't believe in god, but that theory can't be true. theres gotta be a better explaination. like, the possibility of a higher power? not nessicarily(sp?) christian god or allah or something but the whole, massive explosion thing, that shit is for the birds. i think the main reason atheist hold onto that so strongly is, not only because theres no alternitive besides creation, but because most people hate being proven wrong. anyway, whether there is a god or not, something else had to of happened. i was out riding the other night with my friend joey, and we stopped for a little while got into a discussion on philosiphy. joey is a existentialist, like kerouac or emerson, i assume kerouac was an existentalist anyway, thats just my take on his work, anyway, i decided to hold Nietzsche's mantle of nihilism, and joey, who at the time had been looking into alot of buddhism, told me "you are like a drop of water in a fountain, as soon as you drop your ego, and your vices and realize that, for instance, lets say, when the drop (you) are shot up, that is your life, but as soon as you return to the pool, that is death, as soon as you realize that your the same in the air (alive) as you are when you return to the pool (death) your exactly the same." and that also got me thinking. so i'll check back in when i'm done.

changes

where are we going?

change is supposedly natural. but what inspires change? i guess time does, and physical stimuli. but is there also a deep-rooted urge to become different every-so-often? it seems like that for some, but not for others. some people embrace change, I, like to think I do, but I'm not so sure if I do or not. strange things have happened to me and my friends, I suppose Walter put it best when he said it was "moving forward" (and now that smug fuck is apparently taking a step back). but I've been questioning where exactly forward is. it's definetly not in charleston, or any of the surrounding townships or cities; it's just really really hard to believe that i can just get on a road and it'll take me across country.I think that's what summerville is hoping on. it's youth forgetting that it can leave.

long walks downtown/ callling old friends

where are we going?

good question.

tonight me, my girlfriend, and my best friend were walking around the great humid cesspool that is downtown charleston. a small/giant city that is bursting at the seams. The only real reason i can see anyone going there is if you want to be a hipster, or if you want to check out 52.5, the record/info shop. anyway we were walking along and i noticed a lot of things. like, I've never seen a poor white person downtown, and if you get pulled over; 45493057340976 cops erupt from the clogged sewer drains to see what's going on and flash thier lights. as we walked around the bustling metropolis, i noticed we were the only dirty kids there, which is weird, but in retrospect i guess it wasn't, considering in a place full of college kids and hipster trash, clothes and smelling decent must mean a lot if you have to impress all your shitty friends. charleston, is so far, a humid, smelly, loud, annoying place full of drunks, trash, and idiots. but like most other places, it has a few shining stars, i.e. 52.5, the anarchist house, and the REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET this july 4th. hopefully some pretty cool stuff will be there. hopefully some actual pepole will be there and not hipster trash taking advantage of something amazing like they always do. but, hope never really does well in a place like charleston. it's built on disappointment.
